What’s the Deal with Lucy’s No Offense Deodorant?

Here at Lucy’s we sell a LOT of deodorant, and often we get asked the same questions! Today I’m going to try to answer some of the most common questions for ya 😉

Q1. Is it white? Do you make one that isn’t white?

A1. Yup, it’s white in the tube and will look a little white when you first put it on, but as the lovely Lauren demonstrates in the video a little goes a long way! It’s a soft product in a tube, and a light application and a small twist up will do. This adds value for you also, since one tube typically lasts 3-6 months. As you can also see, once you put on a light swipe and do a little rub in dance you can no longer see the deodorant at all.

Q2. Will I still sweat?

A2. You most certainly will! You just won’t stink 😀 Your body is meant to sweat. In our quest to smell good and stay fresh we have been stopping our bodies from sweating using harmful aluminum containing antiperspirants. This in turn actually makes your body sweat more, in an effort to return to normal function, and it makes your body odors smell worse. After a few weeks of adjustment and detoxing you will notice you are sweating less and it really isn’t offensive. You’ll also be happy that you won’t smell like taco seasoning…

Q3. Which scent works the best?

A3. They will all work the same. The scent used isn’t what makes my product work. I’ve specially formulated the deodorant to inhibit odor causing bacteria under the arms, so even the Fragrance Free version will work.

Q4. I’ve used natural deodorant before and got a rash/burn, will yours do that?

A4. While I have had very few reactions to my deodorant over the past 10 years there have been some very rare times when someone has developed a rash. I typically am able to work with the individual to determine which ingredient is causing the problem and will make custom deodorants when needed. I also highly recommend using the Fragrance Free option if you are the sensitive type. That said, I have also successfully transitioned many to my deodorant who were having major problems with other natural deodorants.

Q5. What’s so bad about antiperspirant?

Q6. Antiperspirants contain aluminum, which is why they stop your body from doing what it’s meant to do; sweat. Aluminum has been linked with Alzheimer’s as well as being found in 98% of breast cancer tissue. Additionally just stopping the natural function of sweating can lead to a build up of toxins in your system, making your body odor worse. Typically antiperspirants also use other carcinogenic and hormone disrupting chemicals like phthalates, parabens, formaldehyde, sulfates and dyes. Here at Lucy’s we NEVER use any of these chemicals and make sure to source safe ingredients.

I hope that helps to answer a few of the questions you might have! If not I’m happy to help address any other concerns you may have. I hope your day is fantastic!! ~Lucy
